Understanding the Needs of the Industry

EIF recently commissioned a thorough assessment of key industry stakeholders, and the following topics were identified as overarching needs.
  1. Data that quantifies the value proposition of exhibitions for attendees, exhibitors, host communities and show-organizers, as well as data that identifies trends to enhance overall ROI
  2. Strategies to reach marketing decision makers with data that reinforces exhibitions and events as one of the premiere marketing mediums then leveraging the data to drive greater attendance from both attendees and exhibitors
  3. A model that becomes the industry standard for measuring an exhibition and event's economic impact on its host city
  4. Workforce development for the exhibitions and events industry
  5. Strategies to engage younger audiences in attending exhibitions and events
  6. Research on how to deliver greater marketing value through extending the life and reach of a show by using technology and viral marketing such as social networking
Based on this feedback, EIF can be proactive and focus on funding for needs that are consistent with its core goals of supporting research, education and promotion.
